JUXTAPOSE Briefing

Juxtaposition is an act of placing two elements or concepts close together in order to compare, contrast, or show similarities and differences between the two.

Throughout the arts, the juxtaposition of elements elicits a response by creating meaning from the contrast.

The juxtaposition of colors, shapes, or other visual elements is used to create contrast, with different kinds of characters in proximity to one another with the intention to evoke a new meaning.
