Nous is a concept from classical philosophy for the faculty of the human mind necessary for understanding what is true or real.
It also has been suggested that the term nous is equivalent to awareness and good sense, for which we have found the main inspiration in designing this collection.
In the Aristotelian scheme, Nous is the basic understanding or awareness that allows human beings to reason. For Aristotle, the possibility of understanding rests on the relationship between intellect and sense perception. We attempted to translate the concept of Nous into our graphic design and product development approach, resulting in our most quintessential collection to date.
Nous「ヌース」とは古代ギリシア語で「理性」の意。ただし、順を追って過程的に思考する推論理性ではなく、全体を一挙に把握する直観理性を意味した。したがってアリストテレスでは、理性(ヌース)は事物の本質を把握する能力、推論の原理を把握する能力を意味する。広義には、事物を弁別する能力、すなわち「分別」を意味した。ヌースをもつ人と 「分別のある人」である。このコンセプトは俺らの2023年秋冬コレクションのテーマである。
